Social Studies Reflection Name Greg Hall__ 1. Which chapter in World History did you enjoy most this year and why? The chapter that I most enjoyed was chapter 18 it was all about the world war. We also learned about the Great War. We also covered the Ottoman Empire that was very fun. Also some other things that we learned about the allied powers and the central powers. We also learned about the casualties in the Great War. One more thing that we learned about was the trench warfare it was very fun to learn about because we learned how people in the War would stay down in the trenches. 2. Describe some of the things that you learned in that chapter. Some things that we learned in that chapter is about the gas masks they had to use to get by. And also like I said before if they had to stay in the trenches they would instead of going out there because there would be little holes in the trenches that they can shoot through with a sniper or almost any gun and hit there enemy and I think that it would be a lot better to stay in the trenches instead of going right out on the battle field. Also women had a very big part in the war but before the war women did not do much but when the war started the women did these things: women had to perform supportive tasks, they had to teach solders how to use gas masks, women drove ambulances, worked in factories and finally women grew crops for the soldiers to eat. 3. What new skills have you learned throughout the year? Some new skills that I learned is that I learned how to make hieroglyphics and they were very fun because we made our own and we got to make weird things and people in the class had to try what letter that you wrote and se what word it was in hieroglyphic form it was amazing to do because now I know what the people used hieroglyphics back then. 4. How can you apply this knowledge to the real world? You can apply hieroglyphics in the real world because people back then had to use them and I think people right now in the world use hieroglyphics in the real world because it would be fun for me to use them.
